As we begin to enter the colder months, we believe it’s important to pay extra attention to the health of your hair and scalp.
Wintery conditions can be harsh on our heads in the same way it is to our skin - leaving it dry, itchy, and flaky. It’s not a great feeling but we have a few things you can do to ensure you have a bit of spring in your locks when the warmer seasons approach.
Don’t put these off ladies and gentlemen, you know how they say summer bodies are made in winter? Well, we’re extending that to include soft, shiny, and all-round great hair.
Here are our 3 simple hair care tips to keep yours in great shape:
1. Scalp Treatment
The drier air in winter means a lot of the moisture from our scalp is being wicked away.
This is made worst by being cooped up indoors with the hot and dry air being released from the heating systems in our homes. As a result, a lot of us can experience a dry and itchy scalp – hello, dandruff.
To improve the health of your scalp, we suggest incorporating a purifying scrub and we’ve got the best product for you.
Our Christophe Robin purifying scrub with almond oil is good for a dry and flaky scalp and can be used on all hair types.
It will help shield your scalp from becoming dry and itchy by providing long-lasting hydration, and if that has already happened it will soothe it.
If you are time poor and worried about how committed you will be to using a product like this, you don’t need to be.
All you need to do is apply it once a week to wet hair by gently massaging your scalp with it and then rinse. There’s no leave in time.
It’s a simple no fuss product that will go a long way in helping you reach your healthiest hair.
2. Invest In Silk
If you haven’t invested in a silk pillowcase yet we recommend you do.
It’s also probably the best season for you to do so because silk, unlike the traditional cotton pillowcases we have all been using for eternity, does not absorb moisture from your hair.
You also get the added benefit of feeling like you are sleeping somewhere luxurious. Imagine that, maintaining good hair during winter and waking up feeling like a QUEEN every morning.
3. Regular Trims
We love to see you!
Even though we all may feel a little dull and lifeless during winter, adding in a trim every few weeks to keep brittle hair and dry ends away can make us feel a little perkier.
Incorporating a salon visit is also a good way for your hairdresser to check the health of your hair and scalp and help you with treating any issues before they get worst.
We’re a full-service hair salon offering a range of services including hair treatments, scalp massages and education on hair health and maintenance.
So come on in. Get a trim and grab all your winter hair products too.
